Children

Play is the language of children and toys are their words. For children, play is a significant part of the therapeutic process and is the natural way that children express and learn about themselves. Children have various toys, puppets, games, art supplies & materials that allow them to reveal a wide range of emotions, feelings, and needs. Play therapy encourages children to communicate with others, identify and process feelings, modify behavior, and develop problem-solving skills.

At Sparkman Counseling & Educational Consulting, I look at each individual child as a unique gift with his or her own special set of skills and strengths. As a result of play / activity therapy, your child learns pro-social, responsible ways of interacting with the environment and ultimately views him or herself with a healthy self-esteem and confidence.
